ALL ABOUT LANDFORMS

 Causes of landform:

Constantly the Earth's surface is changing due the natural forces, the main sources of natural forces are wind, heat, ice, landslide, volcanic activity, and earthquakes. Mainly Earth's surface changes occur in two types, one of them is slow to change and the other one is fast changes. Slow change takes so many times while fast changes occur due the earthquake, landslides, and volcanic activity.

MORE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT LANDFORM

Types of landform;

There are four types of landforms-Mountains, Hills, Plateaus, and Plains.

Mountains:-The height of the mountains is over 600 m and conical peaks. The highest landforms on the surface is a mountain. On the basis of origin, there are four types of mountains, they are Block Mountains, Residual mountains, Accumulated Mountains, and Fold Mountains.
Block Mountains:- The middle part of block mountains is lower and the on both sides are higher. The middle lower portion is called a Rift valley. The longest rift valley is the valley of the Jordan river. Black Forest of Germany, Vindhyachal, and Satpura of India are some examples of block mountains.
Residual mountains:-These mountains are formed as a result of weathering and erosion for an extended period. Aravali, Nilgiri, is example of residual mountains.
Accumulated Mountains:-These mountains are formed due to the accumulation of sands, rocks, soil, lava, etc on the earth's crust . Sand Dune is an example of the accumulated mountain.
Fold Mountains:-Fold mountains are formed due to internal motions of the earth, These mountains are wave-like mountains that have so many peaks and lows. The Himalayas, Ural, Alps, Rockies, and Andes are example of fold mountains.

Hills:-These are the landforms that rise above surrounding terrain and smaller than mountains.Javadi hills,Malabar hill ,palni hill are the example of some hills.

Plateaus:-Plateus are flat and rough upland areas, which rise above the ground surface.Generally the height of plateau ranges from 300 feet to 500feet.There are four types of plateaus, they are Intermountainous plateaus,Mountainstep plateaus,Bank plateaus and Domelike plateaus.Major plateaus of the world are listed here-Asia Minor and Anatolia of Turkey ,Alaska ,Great Basin,Columbian,Colorado of U.S.A,Greenland of Greenland Island and Tibetan plateau of Tibet.
Intermountainous Plateaus:-These plateaus are formed between mountain,Example is Tibetan Plateaus
Continenta Plateaus:-These are formed due the weathering, when thre Locolith  inside the Earth comes to the surface.Example is the Southern Plateau.
Bank Plateaus:-These are the plateaus formed on the banks of the oceans.
Domelike Plateaus:-These are formed due to the movement of human and animals on the surface. Example is Ramgargh plateau.

Plains:-Plains can be defined as flat areas with low height ,which are below 500 feet. There are different types of plains on the basis of their mode of formation.Weathered plains,Loess plains,Karst plains,Erosional plains,Glacial plains,Desert plains and Deposition plains are different types of plains.
Weathered plain;-The plains formed due to weathering by rivers, winds, glaciers etc.
Loess plains:-These are formed by the soil and sands brought by winds.
Karst plains;-Plains formed due to the weathering of limestone.
Erosional plains:-Plains near the river banks formed by river erosion.
Glacial plains:-Plains formed due to the deposition of ice.
Desert plains:-These are formed as a result of the flow of rivers.
Deposition plains:-Large plains are formed due the silt brought by the riversSuch plains are plains of .Ganga,Sutlej,Hwang-Ho.
